Hold Me
In Glithero’s latest series Hold Me the matrix leaving its trace onto the ceramic is no longer an object, but the artists’ own hands.
The memory of the intimate gesture of holding the vase close to their body is trasferred to the surface with poetic immediacy.
Interested in exploring the idea of a person leaving their mark on the vases, the duo decided to extend to their community the invitation to participate in making a coral piece, which would carry the handprints of several people moving together under a beam of light. This performative element is also captured with polaroids recording the moment of the objects being held.
"The result is a collective portrait, a snapshot of a community from this place and of our time.”
